Purpose:
With the vision of establishing a provincial House and formation house we bought 8 acres of land in Kothanur on 20 th April 1991. A simple house for the stay of the sisters was built and blessed on 25 th January 1992 . It was then decided that the candidacy programme for the south province will be conducted at Kothanur from March 1992. Since the newly constructed building was not sufficient for the candidates we planned to make a house for them adjacent to the existing building. On July 11 th the new house for the candidates was blessed and the candidacy programme started on 15 th July with 15 young girls.
Social-cultural background:
Holy Cross Institute in Kothanur is kept as the formation house. All the stages of formation like candidacy, postulancy and novitiate were taking place here. As the number of formees decreased, we were collaborating with other provinces for the formation. The candidacy and postulancy will continue to be in Kothanur.
